What are the best ways to advertise for an Event Planner?

Just wondering asked:

I’m new to this profession and somewhat new to the area of central Florida. I only know of one other event planner in town, so there’s not much competition. Any ideas on how to advertise with a small budget?

    Library book: “Marketing without Money” by Nicholas E Bade offers 300 practical ideas for getting your name out there without having to put out insane amounts of money. The book is free to read. Another book “Marketing without Megbucks” by Shel Horowitz is also good for ways to turn media attention onto yourself.

    With small budget you can make a website and then you have to bring traffic to your site which you can do easily. You can make blog also. You can also distribute handbills .
