I’m currently about to start working on my psychology major in college, but i’ve always wanted to be an event planner. I’ve done things for high school and family functions. I like to go all kinds of things; weddings, birthdays, bridal/baby showers. Where/how can i get started? What are some good ideas?

    First, volunteer your services to create an established & verifiable record of experience for future paid positions. Theswe people become your references when applying for paid positions. Submit your resume and information to local non-profit organizations that may need event planning services. Do this while you get your Event Planning education. If you local community college doesn’t offer such classes, check out these online courses:

    Consider a major in mass communication or business administration (if you want to make this a business and not just a hobby).
