Real estate or event planning?

Any suggestions of how I can become an event coordinator/planner for a restaurant?

I’ve been working in restaurants for a long while and I have coordinating & planning experience but the people who are in the position I want, won’t go away. I’ve been doing little things like constantly offering to help with my current coordinators, volunteering to call businesses to make them knowledgeable of our facilities and making inquiries to new businesses in hopes that they haven’t thought of hiring an event planner, but nothing’s working. What does an event planner actually do? What’s the scope of their work?

Hi all, do they ever hired a guy as their wedding planner?

I’m 26YO guy who will starting a wedding/event planner course in NYC. i did some of weddings (of my friends) in my community church. i did (almost) everything. from budgeting, decorating, invitation, time planning on the big day, making a hand bouquet for the bride, center pieces, become the Master of Ceremony, and i even sing in their wedding, and of course clean it up when it’s done. the Bad thing is, i never photograph all of my creation. :( so i dont have a portfolio. my only question is, do you think they will hire a guy as their wedding planner? i really want to become as awedding planner, open my own business so bad.
any suggestion? advice?
and can someone give me an idea, how much (approx.) the beginner wedding planner can make?

I’m still freshman, but my choice of major depends on whether i move or stay in the country i’m in. I love event planning, i think its the most thing that joins these things together. even thought i may not cook, take pictures, and put flowers together myself, i still think just being surrounded my the making is so fun. I dont want to chose one thing out of those because i get bored after a while. i need to change. so What can i major in thats the best to become an Event Planner? and Do they make alot of money? what other jobs could i do other then event planning thats similar though? im pretty loss. i know the direction i want to go to is art. but im not sure what road ill take.
